Due in part to the restricted economic climate over the past few years, the new normal has become doing more with less. In fact, even some of the most well-established organizations were known to make significant cuts to their new technology investment budgets. In an environment where even the strongest and largest company struggles with financial pressures, some might be prone to thinking that startups and small businesses are out of luck.<\/p>\n

“Because of the new economic reality, American companies are doing more with less by focusing more of their time and resources on improving productivity and efficiency,” Martin Mucci,\u00a0Paychex’s president and CEO,\u00a0said to The Payroll Blog<\/a>. “As our new infographic details, human resources are playing a greater role in maximizing productivity, and technology is one of the primary tools being used to make that happen…”<\/p>\n

Paychex’s infographic displayed the results of its survey, which explored how companies are acting in order to maximize workforce performance in restrictive economic times. The three areas of focus for U.S. companies\u00a0included improving human resource functions, better leveraging technology\u00a0and targeting high-skill workers.<\/p>\n

The survey found that 60 percent of U.S. companies will be using technology as a means to better position HR functions and help improve employee productivity over the next two years.<\/p>\n
